India tour of South Africa planned for late 2017 schedule.

India tour of South Africa planned for late 2017

India will visit South Africa for a full tour in late 2017, and will tentatively play four Tests, five One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals, Cricket South Africa announced on Thursday (December 29).
South Africa had toured India between October and December 2015, playing a like number of matches across the three formats. It will be India’s first tour to South Africa since December 2013 when, following differences between CSA and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the teams only played three ODIs and two Tests.
Our scheduling discussions with the BCCI are in progress and we hope to be in a position to announce the fixtures for this tour in the new year,” said Haroon Lorgat, the CSA chief executive, sounding a more cautious note compared to three years ago, when CSA announced the full schedule only for it to be shot down by the BCCI.
India’s tour will mark the middle segment of a packed home summer in South Africa, with Bangladesh due to travel there in September-October for two Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is, and Australia scheduled to play four Tests in February-March 2018.
“Another bumper season of attractive international cricket awaits our fans,” added Lorgat. “India and Australia finished 2016 as the top teams on the ICC rankings list and this will give our players great incentive to perform at their very best.
“We have not beaten Australia in a home Test series since unity and that surely must be good reason to perform in order to bank a notable first. Our fans can look forward to a really big 2017-18 home season for the Proteas.”
This will be Bangladesh’s third Test tour of South Africa and their first since 2008-09, when they lost the two-Test series 0-2. Bangladesh have lost all four previous Tests in South Africa, all of them by an innings. They will play Test matches in Potchefstroom and Bloemfontein, with the ODIs slated for Kimberley, Paarl and East London, and the T20I series returning to the two venues that will stage the Test matches.

October 6-10: II Test (Bloemfontein)
